• Breech Baby & ECV

The 24 hours between 1:30pm Tuesday and Wednesday were insane. Everything started going south when I forgot my military ID at home and Jett had to escort me onto Camp LeJeune. It wasn't a big deal, simply a little extra stress and paperwork when I got to the hospital.

  • Baby in ISR swim class.

    Why ISR?

A few weeks ago JJ started Infant Swimming Resource's Self-Rescue® program. I've heard way too many tales of children drowning plus, we live near the beach and are hoping to spend a lot of time in the pool this summer.

    Daddy’s Deployed!

It feels like Jett’s been gone for so many moments already but at the same time it feels like he was here just yesterday. A week ago, on JJ’s first birthday, we piled into the truck at 4:30am to drop Jett off at the airport. While we were all pretty zombie-like, it wasn’t just the 4am wake up call. We learned Jett would deploy on Monday and he flew out that Thursday. For weeks there had been rumblings of this deployment, but there was some back and forth about whether Jett would go or not so we weren’t necessarily prepared.

  • Back From Hiatus

Wow, it has been a while since I’ve been on here. I originally created this blog as a resource for military spouses and as a platform to share our story with friends and family. This fall/winter threw us some curveballs and I wasn’t interested in sharing much. But, I’m ready to get back out there again! So, welcome back to Warrior Wife! And, oh yeah, we have a new addition! Meet Jett Michael Jr., or “JJ!”

  • Life Update

Now that Jett and I are settled into our rental home I wanted to share a life update! So many things have changed within the past few weeks, I’ve traded running for video workouts, I switched my cell phone plan from Sprint to AT&T, Jett and I are residents of North Carolina and the biggest change yet… I CUT MY HAIR!

  • To My Parents

Veterans Day. A day to recognize and thank all those who have served. Both of my parents were in the Navy and so usually around this time of year I write a Facebook post thanking them for their service. This year is a little different. Today, I realized I’ve barely told my parents how proud I am of them and their service. I often tell Jett how proud I am of him because I am. But, somehow, I’ve never told my parents. Here it is.

  • Where are my other Warrior Wives at?!

Seriously, where is everybody?! The whole time Jett and I have been together he’s been in the military. Jett and I met the summer before his junior year at the Naval Academy. Now, Jett is stationed at Quantico, Virginia as he awaits IOC (Infantry Officer Course) training. So this military thing isn’t new for us. It’s been part of our relationship since the beginning. When we started dating, he was playing baseball at the academy. For the next two years I would travel from Virginia and eventually Kansas, up and down the East Coast to see him play. I got to know quite a few of the other Navy baseball…
