• Plants and Parrots at Pender Pines

One of my absolute favorite places to hang out with the kids is right in Hampstead at Pender Pines Nursery. We love to take our time on the grounds, walk around saying hi to all the animals and maybe pick up a plant or two.

  • Wilmington Railroad Museum

All aboard to the Wilmington Railroad Museum!

The Wilmington Railroad Museum is a fun and educational experience for all ages. Our first trip to the railroad museum was December 2021 with my Grandpa and it was just as fun for him as it was for JJ! This past year for JJ's birthday we got a membership from my mom and it has been the perfect adventure on hot, summer days.

  • Breech Baby & ECV

The 24 hours between 1:30pm Tuesday and Wednesday were insane. Everything started going south when I forgot my military ID at home and Jett had to escort me onto Camp LeJeune. It wasn't a big deal, simply a little extra stress and paperwork when I got to the hospital.

  • One Month Down!

We're one month into our journey as first time foster parents and despite one call to 911 things are going really well!

  • Promoted to Foster Parents!

It's been almost a month since our paperwork came back and we officially became therapeutic foster parents but in that month we've been presented a handful of placements, accepted them all then something has always fallen through. This afternoon we officially open our home and JJ becomes a little brother to an 11 year old girl.

  • Baby breastfeeding

    Bye-bye, Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding was a difficult, but wonderful journey. 374 hours of nursing later and I'm calling it quits. I'm proud of how far we've come but thankful for a few months of normalcy before Baby #2 is due.

  • Baby in ISR swim class.

    Why ISR?

A few weeks ago JJ started Infant Swimming Resource's Self-Rescue® program. I've heard way too many tales of children drowning plus, we live near the beach and are hoping to spend a lot of time in the pool this summer.

    Daddy’s Deployed!

It feels like Jett’s been gone for so many moments already but at the same time it feels like he was here just yesterday. A week ago, on JJ’s first birthday, we piled into the truck at 4:30am to drop Jett off at the airport. While we were all pretty zombie-like, it wasn’t just the 4am wake up call. We learned Jett would deploy on Monday and he flew out that Thursday. For weeks there had been rumblings of this deployment, but there was some back and forth about whether Jett would go or not so we weren’t necessarily prepared.
