Back From Hiatus

Wow, it has been a while since I’ve been on here. I originally created this blog as a resource for military spouses and as a platform to share our story with friends and family. This fall/winter threw us some curveballs and I wasn’t interested in sharing much. But, I’m ready to get back out there again! So, welcome back to Warrior Wife!

And, oh yeah, we have a new addition! Meet Jett Michael Jr., or “JJ!”

Good news first, our son was born February 25th. Our family is healthy and happy. JJ’s birth story will be coming soon!

Since I took some time away from the blog there are a few posts I had drafted that haven’t been shared yet so expect to see things a little out of order. We made so many great memories these last few months and I want to share them, regardless if they are a little bit of “old news.” Some posts you can expect to see are how we told our friends and family we were expecting, our Dr. Seuss-themed baby shower, DIY Milk Bath photoshoot, JJ’s nursery reveal, must-have baby registry items, must-have items for momma and much more! Lots of baby-related stuff that has been back-logged.

Now to address the elephant in the room, why the hiatus in the first place? My father unexpectedly passed away the day before Thanksgiving. Jett and I were grabbing dinner before heading to the airport to meet my Dad in Chicago and spend the holiday with my grandparents when we got the news from my aunt. My dad and I were very close, I moved in with him in 7th grade and from then on it was just him and I. There’s no way to explain what losing a parent is like and it was especially difficult for me to handle being 6 months pregnant.

My dad was so full of life and personality and I don’t want to skip over things in my future posts related to him, or the posts that are backlogged but I do want to shed light on the situation and what’s going on with me and my family.

My dad, my best friend.

With our son here I really want to document our growing family and the crazy life we live. Posts are already scheduled and content will be coming out regularly again. Thanks for sticking around!
