Seriously, where is everybody?!
The whole time Jett and I have been together he’s been in the military. Jett and I met the summer before his junior year at the Naval Academy. Now, Jett is stationed at Quantico, Virginia as he awaits IOC (Infantry Officer Course) training.
So this military thing isn’t new for us. It’s been part of our relationship since the beginning. When we started dating, he was playing baseball at the academy. For the next two years I would travel from Virginia and eventually Kansas, up and down the East Coast to see him play. I got to know quite a few of the other Navy baseball girlfriends, but other than that I haven’t really found many great resources out there for the young MilSpouse.
Since my alma mater is so close to the world’s largest naval base, a lot of my college friends have gone on to become military spouses too. And yet, I still haven’t found a great resource.
So, I decided I would be that resource.
I’m no expert by any means, I don’t expect people to come to this blog for answers. My hope is that you come here to find solace in knowing that what you’re feeling and experiencing isn’t unique to you. That you are not alone on this journey.
