Happy almost Veterans Day! I love this time of year because there are so many military balls going on and I love the swell of patriotism and appreciation for our soldiers and their service.
If you’ve been here awhile you remember this post from last year about my parent’s military service. This year I figured I would take a different angle on Veterans Day. I’m sure you know there are lots of restaurants who offer great deals or discounts but lately, I’ve seen some new offers I figured might be more useful than a free dinner so that’s what I’m sharing today!
Amazon Prime
From November 6th-11th veterans and active-duty military can receive $40 off an annual Amazon Prime subscription. Make sure to use smile.amazon.com when you shop and to select a charity to direct a portion of your sales when you shop!
Target
You can receive 10% off your in-store or online purchase at Target on November 3rd-11th.
Kohl’s
Earlier this year Kohl’s launched Military Mondays across the nation giving a 15% discount to active and former military personnel, veterans and their families every Monday, all year long. November 7th-11th Kohl’s is doubling the discount and giving military members, veterans and their families 30% off purchases in-store.
Earn Online
I love the ease and convenience of online shopping but one of my favorite parts about shopping online is really the ability to rack up rewards. Make sure to download the Ebates browser button before you get in the swing of holiday shopping this season and start earning rewards for yourself while you shop for others!
Another browser button I swear by is my Southwest Rapid Rewards Shopping button. I have had a Chase Southwest credit card since the early days of Jett and I. Long-distance meant lots and lots of plane rides. I don’t recommend credit cards to everyone, but if you have a steady job and can responsibly manage your money, why not earn points for your everyday spending?
Recently Jett and I took advantage of the upgraded boarding option on my Southwest Rapid Rewards Priority card when we went to Hawaii. With Southwest, you can’t always guarantee to sit with your party unless you purchase upgraded boarding. The beauty of upgraded boarding is you can only purchase at the airport, so if you check-in online and get a high B boarding group, you don’t need to purchase it. Jett and I got late C boarding passes and we didn’t want to spend a 6-hour flight sitting with strangers.
What other Veterans Day deals have you seen?
Finally, thank you to our veterans and their families for your service! I am so thankful and proud to live in the United States and I owe a lot of my freedoms to those who protect our country.
