It’s hard for me to believe that the holidays are just around the corner, mostly because I’ve spent the last three weeks living in a fairytale consisting of our wedding and honeymoon!
If you’re anything like me you want to get a jump on holiday shopping- especially because it takes a while to find just the right gift for your guy. Jett and I are going on four Christmas’ together now and I felt an obligation to create a gift guide for other MilSos out there who may be celebrating their first Christmas with their military man or are just stuck on what to get their guy. Enjoy!
Christmas Gift Ideas for Him:
- Amazon Fire – This is something I got Jett last year since he reads so much and because of this gift, he reads even more! It’s super cheap, only $50 and it’s so small and portable.
- Amazon Echo Dot – Two Christmases ago my grandma got basically everyone in the family an Echo dot. They’re great for music but you can also check the weather, check the scores of your favorite games and more! This is another gift under $50.
- Solar Powered Phone Charger – I think Jett’s mom got him this last year. Jett doesn’t typically take his phone out into the field, but I know a lot of military guys do. You can actually charge anything that has a USB cable with this charger which is nice.
- G-Shock Watch – I got Jett a G-Shock for our first big holiday together, which was actually his 21st birthday. He never takes the dang thing off. There are a lot of options when it comes to G-Shocks and I actually had a former soldier help me pick this one out. Honestly, I can’t remember what exact reason he recommended it over the others but there was something significant about the model I linked below.
- Pedometer – Because Jett wears his G-Shock so much he wouldn’t use a smartwatch. He also doesn’t bring his phone into the field so he can’t track his hikes. Last year I bought him a pedometer but it ended up not being compatible. The Garmin pedometer I linked below is ideal and another gift right around $50!
- Wireless Bluetooth Headphones – Roommates. When these guys are in training and have roommates they need headphones. I’ve linked an affordable pair below.
- UnderArmour Pullover – I’m from Maryland so I’m partial to UnderArmour already. Last year a bunch of guys at TBS with Jett ordered these pullovers to keep them warm when they go out into the field during the winter.
- Oakleys – I feel like this gift guide is also a Military Man Starter Pack! Most of these guys have a pair of Oakleys or Ray-Bans already, but this is the pair Jett has and I love that the “O” detail has a flag on it.
- Yeti Canteen – If you haven’t experienced a Yeti yet you are missing out. These things keep your hot drinks hot and your cold drinks cold. They seem a little pricey but they are worth the investment.
- Cooling Memory Foam Pillow – Jett is obsessed with this pillow and we actually put two of them on our wedding registry. In the summer when Jett’s room has no AC, this cooling pillow is a dream come true. The memory foam is also very comfortable.
- Books – I’ll be following up this post with Jett’s top 10 reads. If you don’t want to wait just send me a message and I’ll happily pass along his recommendations!
- Video games – Ditto here. Jett has given up on video games for the time being but I’ll include his five favorite games in the near future!
