I figured Wedding Wednesday would make the most sense if it went in chronological order, right? Plus, there are so many engagements around the holiday season that this series might appeal to some non-MilSo ladies.
So, you’re ENGAGED! Woohoo! First things first- go get your gals!
My girlfriends are all over the country so asking them to be my bridesmaids in person was out of the question. I’m a very extra person though so I knew I wanted to create some sort of gift or box for them. I would recommend getting the box first, that way you can see how much actually fits in it before buying things. Which means, yes, you need to bring the box in with you when you go to store to shop.
Here is what my final product looked like:
The basket included:
- A necklace
- A bath salts push-pop
- A glitter gold wallet
- A face mask
- A ring pop- DUH!
- EOS hand lotion
- A small candle
- Scented soap petals
- A fake succulent
All of these items I snagged from Target and the Dollar Store! I would say in total I spent $10-$15 but the basket was valued at $20-$25. I started shopping for these items right after Valentine’s Day so a lot of pink, lovey-dovey stuff was on sale and was perfect for a Bridesmaid basket!
The ring pops, bath salts, and EOS lotions came in a pack of multiples, so I saved by splitting those up into separate baskets.
Usually, Priority Flat Rate Shipping from USPS is the way to go but for these baskets, I actually saved by shipping in my own box because they were so lightweight. My Maid of Honor lives in Hawaii and I’ve learned the hard way to ship everything to her via Flat Rate Shipping.
These are my three bridesmaids Nina, Cristina and Taylor! I can’t seem to find a picture of my Maid of Honor Katie with her basket. Hers was a little bit different than everyone else’s and included a koozie and a cool shell bottle opener.
Jett’s niece, Bella, was originally going to be our flower girl so she, of course, needed a little basket too! Our venue didn’t allow petals to be tossed so we ended up having Bella as a Junior Bridesmaid.
The wedding planning process is long and stressful. Your girls are going to be a big part of the process, so spoil them when you can!
Did you make your own gift baskets for your bridesmaids or did you purchase something online? What tips or recommendations do you have for bridesmaid proposals?
